What defines price? When does something become priceless? When does a thing become an antique? Is it only time that can spike the value of an object? The things discarded a thousand years ago are treasured today but when you really look at them, they were commonplace things like vases, tablets etc. Things that, like today, we wouldn’t mind if we lost…
Even if we are one of those that live for today, there is a high chance that when confronted with an aging love letter or an old photograph, we might get a little misty eyed. History does that to even the staunchest realists.
So I guess it wouldn’t hurt us to treasure our things a little more. Preserve our own history a little more. After all, the events of today become a part of history and the antiques of today become the antiquities of tomorrow.
